Save Toshiba REGZA 40XV645U 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black

Worked great for a week and then died. Toshiba was responsive answering the phone and we had an in home service technician in the house within a few days. It took Toshiba over 2 weeks to approve the replacement of the LCD panel and now they are out of stock. We have been without a TV for over a month now. Toshiba continues to say our only option is to wait for the part and they can't give us an estimate of when it will be in. They certainly aren't interested in satisfied customers.
Do not buy this or any Toshiba LCD TV.Get more detail about Toshiba REGZA 40XV645U 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black.

Discount Toshiba 22AV600U 22-Inch 720p Portable LCD HDTV, Black

1. it is a very good TV
2. sound is not a problem. change settings of Dolby Digital Dynamic Range to "compressed". also what do you expect from a small bedroom TV ...I for example expect just OK sound
3 it tilts about 15-20 degrees back and 3 degrees forward. 22" samsung does not. as with all LCDs picture get darker if you look from bellow. If it is your problem tilt it forward or place something under the base (it is wide and stable) to tilt it forward.
4. 22" should be your minimal size if it is not your desktop TV. 19" is too small for even small room.
5. contrast and colors are excellent; not worse then samsung ones have...I even like it more
6. remote is super convenient, has favorite channels
7. it changes the channels relatively quick
8. Toshiba looks like real TV set not like Samsung's PC monitor style
8. bought it from Amazon for $230 in Sept
9. my room is dark... just like the TV section in Best Buy storesGet more detail about Toshiba 22AV600U 22-Inch 720p Portable LCD HDTV, Black.

Cheapest Samsung LN22B650 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

I bought this TV for the kitchen and set it up on top of the cabinets. From a distance, the picture looks great. Get a little closer while looking up at it and it looks terrible. I have the same series TV (46 inch)in the family room and you can view it from any angle without loosing picture quality. I spoke with a level 2 technician at Samsung about this issue and was basically told, "yea, thats just how it is." Not cool!Get more detail about Samsung LN22B650 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.

Buying Sony KDL-52W5150 - 52" BRAVIA LCD TV - 120Hz - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV - black

My Sony 52W5150 is a thing of beauty! The pictures are fabulous and it looks great in the living room also. My old 60 Hz Sharp 46 inch cannot compare to this TV in terms of deep blacks and motion picture quality.

First, the pictures are amazing! The blacks are so ridiculously black... my biggest pet peeve on a HDTV is the greyish black when there's supposed to be a black background on some older TV's. You don't have that problem with this TV. This TV has Bravia Engine 3 (Sony's latest video processor) and has a 120 Hz refresh rate. Inbetween those two, the motion judder that I used to see on my old Sharp TV during fast action scenes in movies or sports are gone. All I see is smoothe motion which is a thing of beauty. Once you turn off the "Vivid" colors mode, the colors look real and true to life. I just love it. In fact, my wife told me how she noticed for the first time all the intricate details of the makeup on the TV news anchors' faces. That's high picture quality.

Second, it looks great in the room. I love the Sony light that comes on on the bottom center of the bezel when the TV is on. (In fairness, my wife hates it so be aware that all or most late model Sony HDTV's have this feature) And it looks great whether it's on or not... showing the deep blacks and the rich colors. It really does become the center of your family/living room entertainment. Some prefer the touch of color from Samsung... I prefer the all black look of my TV.

Finally, comparing the specs on this TV versus the top of the line Sony XBR9, there wasn't enough difference to pay the extra $500 premium. Both TV's have the same contrast ratios (3,800 native, 100,000 dynamic). For novices, the contrast ratio is a rough ratio of the brightness of the darkest color the TV is capable of versus the brightest color. So the higher the number, the more capable the TV is in terms of reproducing a wide range of colors at a wide range of brightness. They also look very similar, both use the latest Bravia 3 Engine video processor to produce their pictures, have the same # of HD ports, and allow for widgets & broadband access to Internet.

The three major differences are the following: 1) 120 Hz vs. 240 Hz refresh rate, 2) 8 bit versus 10 bit panel, and 3) of course the $500 or so in price premium. Frankly, my research into 120 Hz vs. 240 Hz refresh rates lead me to conclusion that most people can't really notice the difference. People can notice the difference between 120 Hz and 60 Hz (as I pointed out earlier), but the 120 vs. 240 seems much more marginal. I am not such a videophile that I will pay a serious premium for a marginal difference. Then the 8 bit vs. the 10 bit panel is an even more dubious distinction. 8 bit panels allow for 17 million colors... the 10 bit panels allow a billion in theory.... But you don't really need it. That's because no content source available right now (not blue ray, not HD broadcast, HD cable/satellite) can differentiate colors to that degree and no LCD panel can reproduce that many colors at once. My advice is - save your money and buy the 10 bit panels when the content actually catches up. Buying 10 bit panel right now could be like buying a 50 inch plasma TV in 2000 for like $20K when no real HD content sources were available to take advantage of the big screen & TV capability.

The only thing this TV does not have is LED backlighting. This TV and the XBR9 are Sony's best CCFL backlit LCD TV's. Now the latest TV's have started to use LED backlighting technology to really hike up the contrast ratio to 1 million to 1 and beyond. Sony's latest release XBR10 does this as do the Samsung B6000, B7000, B8000, and B8500 series TV's. Those TV's are fabulous TV's, and they look so cool with their super thin form factor (Samsung's are 1.2 inches thick!). But I am not prepared to pay double or even triple the cost of my W series to get a similar sized LED backlit LCD TV just yet. Wait 3 years and the prices will be MUCH cheaper, since by then larger screen true LED TV's called OLED (not the LCD with LED backlighting TV's that are available now) will probably be more widely available.

By the way, the Samsung TV most comparable to this TV is the Samsung 52B650. Both are 120 Hz, near top of line TV's with CCFL backlighting. I could have gone with either, but I ended up going with this TV because I got a great deal on it and because my sound system and blue ray player (PS3) are Sony products - hello Bravia Synch. Some do think the picture quality on the Samsung is slightly better... but I found the differences to be virtually indiscernable to my eyes. Can't go wrong with either as Samsung and Sony are, IMO, the two greatest LCD TV makers right now... but Samsung seems to be pulling ahead lately.

Overall, fabulous TV... well worth the costs. One of the best top tier, large screen size TV's available with CCFL backlighting. LED backlighting is better, but it costs over double. So for non-early adopters, this is the way to go.Get more detail about Sony KDL-52W5150 - 52" BRAVIA LCD TV - 120Hz - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV - black.

Buy Samsung PN50B560 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

Amazing Plasma TV, I got it off an Amazon 3rd party company that had this item on sale. I first thought the deal was too good to be true, and I still can't believe how great this TV is even when it is right in front of me. The color of this TV is perfect right out of the box. I didn't have to do anything, and it looked amazing with DVD, 720p and 1080p Blu-Ray. I spend a good two month deciding which one I should buy Lcd/Plasma/size/price ratio after my Sony Trinitron dead after 15 yrs of service . I thought the Panasonic X1 720p or the S1 1080p were good enough, until I got on this deal, still a good $250+ off Amazon's price.

I know about the story over the buzzing sound of the panel. So when I turn on the first time, I heard a buzzing sound, and I was like " ooh crap" but then soon afterward I realized the TV went straight to my home theater system as I was scanning for channels, the buzz I heard likely came from the noise of having no channels. After I got my channels, no more buzz. And everything worked out perfect.

The unit is on the heavier side, but what can you expect, its Big, 99lb for with the box, 85 with the stand on. The stand allows 100+ degree of swivel, not sure the exact degree, but I didn't see it on the Manual, I know the Samsung 650 stand can swivel. But I don't need the internet TV thingy, my HTPC can do all of that and better. All and all even if you don't get the discount over this TV set, this is one amazing set to have. Where To Buy Sharp LC22DV27UT 22-Inch LCD HDTV with Built-In DVD Player, Black

We purchased this Sharp TV with a built in DVD player for its DVD abilities. Once it is up and running, we have been totally pleased with the picture quality and sound. Getting there, however, is sometimes a chore. The remote that accompanied the product is not the one described in the materials, and so it took -- indeed is still taking -- some experimentation to figure what does what and how to accomplish even something as basic as pausing the DVD. Equally so, getting started on a DVD with more than one selection is still non-trivial to us. I am sure all this will change shortly once we get accustomed to it and then we will be totally enamored. For the moment, I would welcome a greater ease of use of the DVD. I cannot speak to any other feature.Get more detail about Sharp LC22DV27UT 22-Inch LCD HDTV with Built-In DVD Player, Black.

Shop For Sharp LC40E77U 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

We had the Sharp Aquos LC42D85U and it is a beautiful set. One warning however: after working with Sharp for 2 months to get the D85U running right we found that the advanced signal processing electronics can easily result in lip synch problems if you are getting your signal from an over the air antenna. Sharp wasn't able to fix this problem with software updates but did replace this set with a new LC40E77UN that shows no lip synch problems. If you have cable the D85U will make you happy, otherwise look at the E77UN; it is the set for you. Get more detail about Sharp LC40E77U 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV.

Samsung PN58B560 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

This television exceeds my expectations in every regard except one. Audio. When you purchase one of these beautiful plasma televisions, factor in the cost of a sound bar or some sound system. The speakers built into the rear of the television do not do justice to the wonderful video experience. Your pleasure of watching a movie will be diminished by using the built in speakers. Otherwise, this is one fine television.Get more detail about Samsung PN58B560 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.

Toshiba REGZA 46XV645U 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black Review

I purchased the Toshiba HDTV after reading reviews in Amazon and Consumer Reports and checking the price. Consumer Reports rates the TV as a best buy. It is one of the least expensive televisions that Consumer Reports rates highly.

Amazon delivered the television ahead of schedule. The shipping agent called ahead to schedule a day/ time for delivery. Very easy to set up. Picture quality is excellent. Get more detail about Toshiba REGZA 46XV645U 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black.

Sony KDL-46W5150 46" BRAVIA® W-Series 1080p LCD HDTV with 120Hz refresh rate Top Quality

I purchased the Sony 46W5150 when I saw that the price was actually less than the 46V5100. I am so glad that I did since the price went up to more the next day. I received the TV via a freight shipment. The set was in perfect condition when it arrived.

The w5150 is the same as the w5100 except it has a longer warranty (18mth vs 12mth). The picture is fantastic with inky blacks and excellent color. The Internet enabled features are a bonus. The biggest thing I was looking forward too for the Internet enabled set is the Netflix on demand, however, it is not available until sometime in November 09. I was happy to find that the TV will pull video from my media server; this saves me from having to turn on the PS3 to get to my stored media. I haven't tried to use the USB port for MP3s or Pictures since I have been able to use the Media server.

I love the look of the TV... it looks great on the wall with a very narrow bezel. The screen itself is not quite matte, but it isn't anywhere near as shiny as the Samsungs and some of the other LCDs out there.

Picture quality is excellent. Sony does a great job with their MotionPlus compared to some of the other sets I was looking at. The Sony option has a much more natural feel too and enhances the picture rather than making it look like video.

The sound quality is pretty good (especially for hidden speakers) as long as you don't turn on the SForce surround option. That seemed to really distort the sound quality.

Set up was a breeze. The TV set up my wired internet connection automatically and found the media server on its own. Since the set is internet enabled I was able to download the newest firmware and have that installed without having to call Sony etc.

Overall, this was an awesome purchase. The picture quality is a little bit better than the v5100 series and you get the longer warranty and Internet features. I highly recommend this set.

Sharp LC52E77U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black This instant

About whoever compared this tv to a Samsung. I had a A750 model. I can say that the picture on this tv is better. The regular channels look better because the people look more in proportion and not pulled out looking. This tv has more picture adjustment controls than any tv I have ever seen. I don't find them confusing. I think they are fun. Anyway I was able to buy this for under 1300 new. I would be paying close to 2000 or maybe more for a Samsung. The price difference is a big difference. I believe this is the Best lcd that Sharp has made thus far. It comes with a 15 month warranty as well. No complaints. Samsung PN50B450 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV Immediately

I was having a hard time deciding between this TV and the Panasonic Viera P50X1. My husband and I went to Best Buy and luckily they had them set up side by side to compare. The Samsung seemed to have more accurate color (albeit barely perceptible) so we were leaning towards it anyway. Then, the price on the Samsung was temporarily lowered to $799 which definitely sealed the deal! We received it last Thursday, which was a day earlier than estimated. We're both very impressed. We were watching the US Open in HD and it really feels like you're standing on the court right next to the player's sweaty body. So far we're thrilled with our purchase, and I'm very happy with Amazon as they (in my experience) always make transactions seamless and stress free. Great TV at a great price. The picture quality is awesome, I replaced a Sharp Aquos LCD and felt like the Panasonic was a step up in quality. I have had the set for three weeks now and have not noticed any heat issues what so ever. I increased the sharpness from the factory settings and toned down the colors some and I am very satisfied with the overall picture quality. Sporting events look great! This plasma is the way to go for sports fans! No doubt. I have my sound via my home theater system so I can not say i use the TV's speakers. Samsung PN63B550 63-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV Order Now

I've been looking for a reasonably-priced, high-performance flat-screen HDTV over 60 inches for a long time, and the new Samsung 63-inch low-energy plasma HDTV fits my needs in every way. Amazon started selling this set just a few months ago and has a price that beats all the local merchants, and they ship it free. I had to wait a couple of weeks for it, but it was well worth the wait. The shipper handled it with "kid gloves", air freighting it from Washington state to Hartford, CT and then trucking it to my house. They brought it in, unpacked it, and turned it on to make sure it worked properly before they left. I mounted it on the wall with a great mount (Sanus) that Amazon sells, and everyone who has seen it has been "blown away" by its performance. The picture is very sharp and the colors just pop out at you, yielding and almost 3D effect. The blacks are very clear and detailed, just like a great plasma set should be. I'm sure it helps that I get a very fine picture from Dish Network, which now has a lot of HD channels available. It also works very well (great picture) with my current DVD player, which has component video output (no HDMI). This makes me reluctant to get a Blue Ray player, because they still seem to have a lot of problems (DVD rejections and no memorized stops). All-in-all I couldn't be happier and I'm glad I waited to get the right system to fit my needs.Get more detail about Samsung PN63B550 63-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.

Low Price Samsung LN19B360 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Black

This set is a good fit for a small space. As others have said, the built in speakers are tinny, but odds are if you are buying a set this small, you will be using headphones anyhow. I move mine between a very high perch (Bed) and have no trouble viewing it, and a eye level spot (Work Desk) and get exceptional clarity there as well.
I had it from box to viewing in about five minuets. Took me longer to open the damned box then to actually set it up.

You get your moneys worth for sure. Though if you are going to be viewing from more then six feet away, I would opt for a larger set.

First I would like to say that the delivery service also gets the best rating. They were just the best. I figured they would just set it inside the door and leave. They brought it into the bedroom plugged it in and tuned it for me. They did not leave until they were sure it was working properly.

I have always purchased Sony or Panasonic. I had a 42" Panasonice Viera Plasma in my bedroom on a free standing stand. The stand just took up too much room. I read all the reviews here for several weeks before deciding on the Samsung. I even went over to BestBuy and watched my final two choices. It was Samsung the whole way. It's light [30+ lbs.] and sits on a stand with wheels so I can move it much easier.

Colors are all vivid and make you feel like you are right there. Thank you Amazon! ! ! !Get more detail about Samsung LN37B650 37-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color.

Cheapest Samsung LN26B460 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

I wanted a larger TV for my kitchen and a 26" screen seemed to be the solution. This TV has a nice picture (great on near-high def, over the air digital transmission) and OK sound.

Like other Samsung TVs (I have three) it looks and feels like a quality product. The only downside is sound and that is mostly a volume issue. Kitchen TVs are more often stand alone and the volumn and quality has to come from the TV. If better sound is needed a sound bar would provide a small space, great improvement.

Samsung makes highly rated TVs for a reason . . . they perform.Get more detail about Samsung LN26B460 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV.

Buying Sony BRAVIA VE5-Series KDL-52VE5 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz Eco-friendly LCD HDTV

Having been burned on many appliances using way too much power (and I pay as much as $0.40 a kWh thanks to Enron screwing California's "grandmas"), I was attracted to the power saving features on this TV. But the small number of reviews made me wonder if I was missing something, even though all but one were 5 stars. Having had the set for a week, I can now rest easy. The picture is great, the power is what they claim (except as noted below), the sound is good (we didn't want a home theater system) and, in general I am very pleased with my purchase.

Pros:
1. The picture is stunning. I couldn't compare side-by-side with other TV's, but I am totally pleased.

2. The power consumption is as advertised. I have a power meter and check out all new appliances -- and have had some real surprises in the past, including with another Sony TV, but that's another story. (See my review under Sony's KDL-37XBR6 for that saga.) During the day, this 52" tv uses 140 watts in Standard mode, 100 watts in Cinema mode, and 150 watts in Vivid mode. I like Standard best during the day. At night, with the Light Sensor enabled (the default), the power drops to about 75 watts in Standard mode, but the picture is way too dim for my taste, so I've had to turn off the Light Sensor. Instead, I either use Standard mode all the time, or move to Cinema mode at night (which is fine, but a bit of a pain to change -- I wish Light Sensor was not so aggressive or there were a user setting to adjust it from 0 to 100%). This compares to 200 watts for my 37" Sony purchased a year ago, so this set is really doing much better.

3. The sound is fine for us. Since we're not into home theater, you can tell we're not into ground shaking bass. But the sound from the TV's internal speakers meet our tastes fine. No tinniness or other problems mentioned on some other sets.

4. Standby power really is low. My power meter measures 0 to 0.2 watts, not that it's very accurate at that level. I have not yet hooked up an antenna or cable connection, where the problem mentioned in #1 above with the electronic program guide might enter. When I do, though, now I'll know to look for the problem and how to fix it if it occurs -- or bug Sony until they tell me how to. (The two sets might have different procedures for turning off the useless guide that was costing me several dollars a month in electricity -- on the other Sony, not this one.)

Cons:
1. As noted above, the Light Sensor is almost useless. Way too aggressive. And, the user manual was almost no help in finding how to turn it off. It's in Setup/Eco, and to get to Setup you have to go to Picture Adjustments or another Setup category. I didn't see Setup as an option itself.

2. The motion sensor is useless. It only works to 9.5' which is not far enough for a 52" TV. Probably more useful on the smaller models. The unit ships with motion sensor off as the default, a sign that Sony recognizes (but did not fix) the problem.

Caveats:
1. We drive the set only with a TiVo box, a PS3 (blu-ray!) and other external signals. I have not yet tested the internal tuner, so the slow tuning problem mentioned by the single 1 star review is not something I'd see. I also wonder if that's a problem with digital tuners in general or this set is uniquely slow.

2. I was unable to determine the expected life span of the hot cathode fluorescent light, or how much a replacement might cost.

3. I was unable to compare power consumption with the new (more expensive) LED backlit sets. It's hard to find power consumption ratings, much less under real use. The LED sets are also a lot more expensive to buy.

In spite of the small drawbacks, this set is so much better than others I've seen (at least when my concern for power consumption, both from an economic and environmental point of view is factored in) that it clearly rates five stars.Get more detail about Sony BRAVIA VE5-Series KDL-52VE5 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz Eco-friendly LCD HDTV.

On/Off/Volume/Source buttons are more detailed and easier to use. (Brail-like buttons)
I like the side that the component box is on/ easy access to hdmi/component
Great Bang for the Buck!

Cons-
Volume is sort of shallow/sensitive.(speakers are in the back)
Setup was harder than needed to be.
The red tint is sort of difficult to see at the bottom of the screen.
Nothing Major.

Overall I love this TV, and after my last samsung's screen was shattered (THESE SCREENS ARE VERY SENSITIVE PEOPLE) i was happy to find out that a 32 720 was all i needed for my small bedroom. I play alot of video games and watch alot of NBC HD on it and am really happy with the picture quality. And honestly the tv does a decent job with just standard (480i) definition/Better than most imo. Great TV, and def. worth the price I paid for it!

Where To Buy Samsung LN55B650 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color

I'm surprised that more people aren't buying this set, or at least reviewing it (which typically is indicative of sales). Really with this set there are only two things that may bother your run-of-the-mill average TV watcher, and that is 1. Glare, 2. Flashlighting/clouding (backlight shining through).
On 1 I can honestly say the glare doesn't bother me at all. Some people may not be able to deal with it because they are picky and/or have a really bright room this TV is going into, but that is not an issue to me. Just personal opinion. I would never let that be a factor to me unless it truly bothered me, and it truly does not with this set.

On 2 I can say that I did have some initial problems with clouding and it being visible. I used settings posted on Cnet for this TV. They are kind of dark, but you get used to it. This prevents clouding from being as noticeable, but some backlight will bleed through, and it's especially apparent on large TVs. How apparent is it? I am very picky and although I can notice it on a completely pitch black screen, it really doesn't bother me that much during normal TV watching. I have my backlight set at 3 (out of 10), standard mode leaves it at 8. This is way too bright and you will most definitely see some bleed through.

There are a few recommended fixes if you have clouding that is poor around the edges. Wiping the entire TV side to side and up and down with a microfiber cloth has worked in limited cases, as well as loosening a few bezel screws along the TVs edge to loosen the pressure and keep the backlight from shining through as brightly. Also limited success stories on this method and I even tried it with no such luck. Changing my settings was the action that gave me the best result. Photographs have proven even TVs that appear as if they have no apparent clouding to the naked eye actually do have clouding, so don't stare at your TV for hours looking for this imperfection, simply find a setting that seems to remove it upon a glance at the TV and move on.

Some other cons to point out that you may or may not know about and/or normally wouldn't think they will bother you but might actually. The off angle viewing of this TV is not good. You will see the TVs contrast change dramatically even moving your head 2 feet from the center of the TV sitting 10' away. How big of a deal is that to you? Depends. Some experts have said that this TV is best for one-person and adding multiple people with different viewing angles renders this set to not be preferred. Do I believe that? Not really. I think for most families sitting an appropriate distance from this set probably won't be too irritated at the slight off angle viewing issues. However, it is noticeable and the best angle by far is directly in front of the set. Keep this in mind--maybe check it out in action at the store first if you are buying this set for a family.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the TV has an included rope you screw into the back of the TV and tie off on a screw in the wall. Very silly design and completely retarded to put on and even easy to look over when you purchase the set. But guess what? Use it. This TV is top heavy like mad and easily could tip over. I've also heard some complaints on the PIP and remote and audio as well on this TV, but I don't use any of them so I won't comment. I also don't play games so I won't comment there, although I hook my computer up and it looks just fine.
People like to hear potential negatives in reviews more than positives I think, so there is my list. I consider myself pretty picky but overall I think this TV is an excellent buy at a sub-$2,000 price point. If you can afford a $5,000 LED LCD with the latest technology, why are you even considering this set? While the PQ might be comparable to more expensive TVs (truly this TV looks that good), lesser auxiliary issues like tying a rope to a wall to keep the TV from falling shouldn't even be something you should care about. PQ is great from cable to blu-ray to PC on this set and I really don't think you're going to be disappointed if you purchase and this is your price range (or a little above).

Another big debate is whether or not to go with the 52B750 with a higher refresh rate. The truth is that your eyes will never tell a difference between the two refresh rates. I have read that there are lesser cases of backlight bleeding with the 52", but that's probably partly due to the fact that the 52" is 3" less in size. I'm still in the return period and I could get the 52" if I wanted, but I simply think that's not the best buy. This TV is.

Lastly I will point out that the LCD panel used in this particular set is a CMO Panel and not a Samsung panel. Approximately 60% of Samsung's don't use Samsung panels, so don't worry that you aren't getting an authentic Samsung; it is pretty common. The CMO panel a lot of experts complain about, but they also complain about the S-PVA panel used in the 46" version of the B650 or the 52" version in the B750. The difference between the two is negligible to the everyday user, not to mention side-by-side the two panels are almost identical in specs. If you've heard about this before and it's concerned you, or if you are hearing it now for the first time, consider it extra information and nothing else that should sway your opinion on purchasing this set. Lastly I will say that if you are someone who thinks 42" or 46" is fine, just buy this TV. The price difference is insignificant and very rarely have I ever heard of someone buying a bigger TV than what they wanted and complained about it later. My dad likes to complain it's too big, but that's because his TV is best for viewing under a microscope and he's not used to watching things bigger. Bigger is better. Overall I give this TV a solid A.

Sony BRAVIA Z Series KDL-40Z5100 40-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV Top Quality

Product was delivered as scheduled, no problems at all with that.
Excellent picture quality, very easy to use (x-cross media bar looks almost the same as the one in the playstation 3 system) and light enough to hang it on the wall by myself (wall stand purchased separately).

Widgets and online video capabilities are great. Having the possibility to check the weather while watching TV is very helpful (no need to stand up and check in the computer or swith to Weather Channel). Youtube in the TV is great. Very easy and intuitive to use, even kids can control it by their own.

I have no opinion regarding sound quality, since I use it connected to a Home theater.

I really recommend this TV, it's just great and I love it. For about $1,200-1,300 is the best choice by far. Go for it.Get more detail about Sony BRAVIA Z Series KDL-40Z5100 40-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV.

I bought this television after doing some pretty extensive research. I had almost decided on a Samsung, but after going to the store and looking at some of them, I decided that the Samsungs were way too glossy for my taste. I saw the 40" version of this television on display at a store, and it looked fantastic. Very sharp picture, not glossy. The power saving features and having seen how good it looks in person got me very close to a decision, and the final piece of the puzzle was that it would fit on the stand I already have. That might sound silly, but it's another $200-$300 for a decent stand. My stand is 20" wide, and has about an 3/4" lip on the edge. The stand on the Sony is about 18" wide, and lifts the TV up over the lip, so it worked out quite nicely.

The service from Amazon was great on this. The free scheduled delivery worked out great. The company that delivered it (CEVA, I beleive) showed up early, and carried it up the stairs to the third floor for me. They offered to unpack it, which I declined, wanting to do it myself to make sure I could save the box for moving purposes.

It took me about 30 minutes to get the TV unpacked, the stand attached, and the TV up and running. Keep in mind, I was doing this by myself...it would have been quicker with a helper.

The picture on this TV is simply awesome! I watched The Descent on Blu-ray as my first movie, mainly because it's a very dark movie, and I wanted to see what the black levels were like. The Sony did not disappoint. Most of the movie is set in dark caves, and most of the time, I couldn't even see the edge between the dark movie and the edge of the letterbox.

The only bit of weirdness I've had, was at the very beginning of the movie, there's a white water rafting scene that looked very strange to me at first. It turns out it was because the director of the movie had been using camera movement for dramatic effect, and the MotionFlow technology was canceling it out! It was easily fixed just by turning off MotionFlow. I plan on leaving it off, as I have noticed no blurring issues even with it off.

The only thing a wee bit lacking on this TV is the sound, but it's not horrible, and honestly, if you're willing to shell out the cash for this TV, then you should be willing to shell out for a good sound system too. Overall, I highly recommend this TV.Get more detail about Sony BRAVIA VE5-Series KDL-46VE5 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz Eco-friendly LCD HDTV.

love the Tv- It is very nice. My son bought a # 650 model and I was really impressed so I purchased one for us. It was at a great price and I am pleased with it so far. I don't even have it hooked up to Digital or HD for the full effect, just did not get around to getting cable guy over since this is a new room. A sound surround would make it better for the sound. The white glove delivery was quick and very professional. They unloaded and checked to make sure there was no damage and it powered on. Love buying on Amazon- everything has been fantastic. Lowest Price Samsung PN58B650 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

I purchased this TV after many hours of online reviews and comparing models at local stores. After deciding that plasma was probably a better way to go for a large screen (acutally cheaper and offers a better total viewing angle over LCD), my choiced narrowed down to the Panasonic and Samsung models. I wanted a 54-60 inch for my viewing space. The 58 inch Samsung appeared to me to have a little more "pop" and picture tuning controls than the 54 inch Panasonic. Since I was not mounting the TV on the wall, I felt that I didn't need the 1 inch thick B850 model along with the higher price. I chose the B650 after reading many on-line reviews

The picture is outstanding! Because the plasma picture is not quite as bright as the LCD in the "normal" mode, I use the "dynamic" during the daytime. There are plenty of HDMI jacks (4) so I can hook up my cable box, blue ray player, and and older VCR.

The sound is not so hot so if you are spending this much for a TV, you need to get some sort of surround sound system. Even a cheap one is better than the sound from the TV.

The plasma screen puts out plenty of heat as I expected, but have not seen any "burn in".

Overall, an outstanding product. The delivery company opened the box for me and pluged it in and powered it up to ensure it was working and so I could inspect it.Get more detail about Samsung PN58B650 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV.

Discount Toshiba 26LV610U 26-Inch 720p LCD TV with Built in DVD Player, Black

We bought this set over a year ago (i.e., out of warranty now) and it stopped working. It won't turn on and all that we get are three blinking yellow lights on the front. After this happened, I did a web search and found that this is a very common problem with Toshibas that usually occurs after the warranty period. And Toshiba will not help with this common problem. It will cost more to fix than the tv is worth, so we have to go buy another (not Toshiba) one. Also, the digital tuner frequently could not tune some digital channels after a while. Cheap Sharp AQUOS LC65E77UM 65-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Gold Bezel

I just hooked up this set and am thoroughly impressed. How can you beat this for the money? What do people look for in any TV set? Picture quality! Look no further folks - the picture quality is absolutely superb (no dead pixels). Why would anyone want to pay more for a Samsung or Sony? They undoubtedly make very good 65" sets. But what are you getting for the extra thousand dollars? An ethernet connection? 240 Hz technology? Both features are completely overrated in my humble opinion.
